About the Photographer

My name is Shelby and I am the photographer for Shory Photography. I have been doing photography for two years officially, but it has always been something I have been interested in. I took a few online courses for photography, but the rest comes from my natural talent. Although I am young, my pictures prove to be professional and always turn out great. I grew up in West Jordan, Utah, and now live in Bluffdale, Utah with my husband Rory, and family. Before doing portrait photography, I did landscape shots. Every where I went I took my camera with me. After experimenting with portrait photography, I realized my talent was in this area. I found ways to improve my photos, and learned the photo editing program GIMP. Photography is a deep passion of mine and I am so happy to be able to  provide beautiful photos to my clients. I look forward to my future in this career path.
I married my husband August 25, 2009, after being with him for three years. We met when I was just fourteen and he was eighteen. On our month anniversary after the wedding, we got the big news that I was three weeks pregnant. We are extatic about starting our family. Rory does web page designing. He is very good at what he does. He is a very caring and loving man, who supports me in what ever I do. I am very greatful for him.
My expertise in photography is location shots. Instead of owning a studio to do my photography, I use the environment. I love the way the photos look with all of the naturality of the area. Being able to capture happiness that will last forever is something that excites me and I love doing what I do. I love where I am in life and how far Rory and I have come..
